Book Jacket vs Book Sleeve: Which One is Right for You?

If you've spent any time browsing my website, you may have noticed that I make both Book Jackets and Book Sleeves. At first glance they might seem quite similar, they both protect your books and they're both made with beautiful fabrics, but they actually serve very different purposes.

One of the questions I'm asked most often is:

"Which one should I choose?"

The answer really depends on how (and where) you like to read.

Book Jackets – Protection While You Read

A Book Jacket is designed to stay on your book while you're reading it, much like a reusable dust jacket.

Simply slip your book inside, adjust the back cover to fit, and you're ready to settle in with your next read. The attached ribbon bookmark means you'll never lose your place, and your book stays protected from grubby fingers, accidental spills, bent corners and everyday wear.

If you're someone who likes to take care of your books, or you collect beautiful editions, a Book Jacket is a wonderful companion.

They're especially popular with readers who:

• Read at home or at the café.

• Want to protect special editions or favourite books.

Book Sleeves – Protection While You Travel

A Book Sleeve has a different job.

Instead of staying on your book while you read, it's designed to protect your book while you're out and about.

Whether you're popping a novel into your handbag, backpack, nappy bag or carry-on luggage, a Book Sleeve provides a soft, padded layer that helps protect your book from scratches, bent covers and everyday knocks.

They're perfect if you're always carrying a book "just in case."

So... Which One Should You Choose?

There's really no wrong answer, it simply comes down to how you read.
